The Appointmen

Names i’ll never know

Faces I’ll never learn

Noise, silence,  sighs,  complaints

Movement, stillness, papers, coffee

We wait, for how long we don’t know

But we wait, like cows for milking

Ingrained in a society code of conduct

And we wait on, tuning in, tuning out

Waiting for that name assigned to us

To be called & pronouced as they see fit

Waiting to be on the move once again

Such a milking parlour of life we live

Sunday car boot

Rain drops wander down the pane

Followed by my eyes, sleepy and slow
Should I stay in my warm bed or go
My mind ponders the yes and the no
The yes propels me upright
Coffee & toast sleepily taken on board
Out into the rain, tucked unto my hood
Hmmm…. I can still turn back perhaps
Yes is still pushing me so off I go
Tables of people’s lives and fleeting loves
Making way for more space to fill
Searching on, under and around
Huddled against the drizzle’s flayling
My bargain found,  I turn around
Home, hot coffee and a smile…

The quiet

Lonely, lazy thoughts patrol my mind

The quiet, the still yet the disquiet of still

Thoughts per chance do roam

Lost, stolen, begging to take me

Take me anywhere but here by my soul

My soul that waits for no man but yet

Waits for all mankind to move inside

Inside my mind of thoughts and dreams

Flying solo I do keep them all away

Till one day I’m too tired to barrier

And I shall let them in and we’ll see

We shall see what thoust bring to me
